Jerry Earp Obituary

From Lebanon Missouri, Jerry Dean Earp was born July 30, 1956. He passed on March 1, 2020. In his youth, Jerry was baptized as a Christian, farmed with his dad, played high school sports and enjoyed both hunting and fishing. After graduating high school from Richland High School in 1974, Jerry joined the Air Force and so began his travels. Jerry’s steadfast and adventurous nature took him overseas with the military. He came back telling of his adventures as a young man, such as waking up to find a new tattoo and how he loved riding his Harley.

He was a well-traveled journeyman and a truly dedicated worker. He had a great love for and was a loyal member of the IBEW Electrical Union. As a skilled electrician and great teacher to many apprentices, he kept friendships that spanned across many states. Jerry worked in almost every state in the country. He retired in 2012, after nearly 35 years with the union.

This is where his real love for life began. Spending time with his grandchildren, family and pets is where Jerry truly shined. His greatest passion was working in the yard with his grandkids on the tractor. He was a great example in how much he loved and how he cared for his pets. He enjoyed throwing the ball for the dogs and loved his cat. He was the master of barbecuing everything from steak and shrimp to smoking turkeys. Jerry’s Chiefs won the Super Bowl this year, just for him.

Jerry loved Bobbi, who he found not only a true friend in, but a great love with. They shared a grand journey and companionship together. They enjoyed going for rides and camping in their younger years and then cultivating their new property in latter years.

Jerry was independently successful and courageously faced many adversities. He grew into a kind and loving man. He is loved greatly by his family and friends. He will be remembered for the lovely times they shared together and for his genuine spirit.
