Jodi "Jojo" Hooiman Obituary
Jodi Lynn Hooiman, (“Jojo”), unexpectedly passed away, Sunday, June 19, 2022, at her home in Elko, Nevada. She was 41 years old.
Jodi was born on June 11, 1981, to Dirk Mark Hooiman Sr. and Lauren Ann Gandolph, in Port Jefferson, New York.
Jodi graduated from Elko High School in 1999. Her years of employment included crew worker at McDonald’s; CNA at the Highland Manor; housekeeper; and a nanny, to several of the neighborhood children, as well as to some of her nephews and nieces.
Jodi felt very lucky, to be able to be a stay-at-home mom, after meeting the love of her life, Scotty Mair and stepson, Aiden.
Jodi was happiest while spending time with her loved ones; listening to music; watching her shows, and talking with her family and friends. Jodi loved being a partner, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her fiancé of 6 years: Scotty Mair; stepson: Aiden; fur-baby: Harley; mother: Lauren Pepin; step-father: Robert (Bob) Pepin; siblings: Jennifer (Ben) Millemon; Kelli (Neilton) Pereira; Dirk M. Hooiman Jr; Brandi (Matt) Nielsen; Eric (Tera) Hooiman; Jon (Brittney) Hooiman; Christopher (Melanie) Hooiman; stepbrother: Brian (Danna) Pepin; maternal grandfather: Thomas B. Gandolph Sr (“Papa”); stepmother: Marilyn Hooiman (Stevenson); stepsisters: Gloria Anderson; Misty Beaver; stepbrother: Taylor Hooiman and several nieces and nephews.
Jodi was preceded in death by her father: Dirk M. Hooiman Sr; paternal grandparents: Derk F. Hooiman & Olga Kusovac Hooiman; maternal grandmother: Faith Shailor Gandolph and stepbrother: Justin Hooiman.
Family, friends and others who were touched by Jodi, are invited to attend a celebration of her life at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building located at 3001 5th Street, Elko, Nevada, on Tuesday, July 5th, at 12:00 PM.
