John Charles Feyder, 75, of Elko NV, died February 9, 2022, at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital.
He was born March 2nd, 1946, to Ernest Aloysius Feyder and Edna Elizabeth (Stanley) Feyder of Humboldt, South Dakota. He was raised in Humboldt, South Dakota, and graduated from High School there in 1964. He entered the United States Navy in July of 1965 and completed two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Oriskany. During his time on the Oriskany, he received a silver star and a bronze star for his services. After his years of service, he lived in California, Washington, and Nevada. During his many years in these different locations, he had a gift for showing halter horses, at many world shows with great success He resided in Elko, NV from 1993 to 2022. He was a long-time teamster and was known by most people in the industry as “Papy” where ever he drove everybody enjoyed “Papy” He was an avid race car enthusiast over the last decade and was a board member on many different levels. He enjoyed waterfowl hunting and telling stories about his time in the Navy with his best mate Dick Brenner. He was extremely active in the Church of Christ here in Elko. He often led many sermons and bible studies along the way
He is survived by his Son, Dustin Feyder of Elko, NV, and Daughter Joleen Kuhnert of Ava, IL; Sister, Kathy Wheeler of Sequim, WA, and Mary Daugaard of Salt Lake City, UT; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest & Edna Feyder, Sister Jacqueline Heisinger, and Brother Douglas Feyder.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
