Joseph Wayne Sides

Joseph Wayne Sides was born January 8, 1991, and passed away on February 18, 2022. He is the son of Darby and Michele (Huff) Sides. He was born in John Day, Oregon, but lived most of his life in Elko, Nevada. Joseph graduated from Elko High School in 2009. He was an employee of Kinross Gold Corporation at their Bald Mountain Operations working as a mechanic.

Joseph loved many things in his life, but his children were at the top of that list. He enjoyed 4x4 weekends with friends, traveling, fishing, and singing. He had a beautiful voice. One of his favorite pastimes was working on vehicles with his dad, brothers, cousins and friends. Joseph always saw the best in people and had a strong belief that anyone could change for the better.

Joseph is survived by his father and mother, Darby and Michele. He is also survived by his three daughters, Ariea (9), Beretta (6), and Fynley (4). His son, Ruxton (2) and stepson, Gunnar (7). They were the loves of his life. Joseph has two surviving brothers, Daniel (Monica) and Mathew, a sister, Akeisha (Jason) Brinkerhoff, his grandparents, Melvin and Marilynn Huff, Wayne Dee Sides, Tanya Steele, nieces, Roselynn, Aubree, Brooklynn, Temperance, Paislie, Renesmae, and nephew Logan, his aunts and uncles, Laurie Billington, John and Kellie Huff and Michael and Vala Huff. He is also survived by his cousins and friends.

Joseph never met a stranger and if he considered you his friend, he considered you his family.

He is preceded in death by his step-grandmother, Sherry Sides, step-grandfather, David Manz and his great grandmothers, Myrtle Hill and Edith Threlkeld.

A celebration of life will be held on April 8 at 3:00 PM in Ryndon, Nevada.
