Mark Hambleton Obituary

Mark Hambleton, age 65, of Spring Creek passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 13th, 2024.

Always down for a good fight, Mark enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 in March of 1976. Mark highly valued this service to his country and attained the rank of SP5. During his time in the service, Mark served in the following roles: Boot Camp & Basic AIT as a Utility Specialist (Ft. Leonard Wood, MO), 76th Engineer Battalion (Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland), 28th Engineer Detachment (Ft. Greely, AK), Rec. Specialist Carpentry (Ft. Wachuka, AZ), and Rec. Specialist (Ft. Greely, AK & Ft. Leonard Wood, MO). He was honorably discharged in 1985. Emphasis on the honorably, Mark was forever grateful for the chance to serve.

In 2006, Mark began his mining career in Elko, NV with Ledcorp. In 2007, he began work for Barrick as a heavy equipment operator and remained there until 2020.

Mark loved the following things: his wife Eve, Camel cigarettes, his animals, his house, his truck, honesty, integrity, guns, whiskey, rock music, Jordan (McKenna), Ashley (Tallon & Ryatt), Mikaela (Tabor, Emi, and Kade), Bonnie & Tom, Annie (Cole and Kennedy), Dylan, Shane, arguing, fishing, hunting, the Cleveland Browns (we tried to tell him this was hopeless, but see above about his love for arguing), coffee in his favorite recliner, and yard work with Dr. Mattern.

Mark would be appalled at how long this obituary is, and even more so appalled at this; Mark, we loved you dearly and never gave up on you for a single second. You loved who you wanted to love, learned what you wanted to learn and fixed what you wanted to fix. Our thoughts and prayers are with Heaven because they are, without a doubt, going to have their hands full with you.
