Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, wife, and cherished family member Martie Jo Anna Nicholson. Martie passed away at her home on January 4, 2022, after a long hard-fought battle with illness. She was born in Lancaster, CA to Cindy Goddard and Gary Wright in 1975. She attended Elko High School and also Great Basin Community College. Marty was the proud mother of her daughter Georgina who proceeded her in death. She was an avid fisherman and loved to spend her free time in the great outdoors. Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband Jeff and ensuring that her mother was always making the right choices. When you visited their home, you would always find her in the kitchen trying out new recipes, working in her garden, or canning foods for the upcoming year.
Martie is survived by Jeff, her husband; Cindy Goddard, her mother; Dallas Burhus, her uncle; and Louise Wright, her step-mother.
Martie is preceded in death by her father Gary, her daughter Georgina, and her grandfather Ted Burhus.
Martie was cremated and her ashes will be scattered in Montana at a place where she and Jeff thought of as their special place. There will be a celebration of Martie’s life scheduled for the Summer of 2022 with notifications being sent out at a later date.
