Renne Jensen Obituary

RENNE THOMPSON JENSEN

Renne Thompson Jensen, 73, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at her home in Spring Creek, Nevada with her daughter and son-in[1]law by her side.

Renne was born on June 18, 1948 to Robert Morris and Chloene Johnson Thompson in St. Anthony, Idaho. She spent her childhood at the family home and attended school in St. Anthony. Her love for the restaurant profession and being around the public made working in the family restaurant business and other local restaurants from an early age a perfect fit for her.

Renne married her childhood friend and sweetheart Chuck Jensen on December 21, 1966 while he was home on leave from the US Army. They spent the next 53 years together prior to his passing in May, 2020 raising and enjoying their children and grandchildren. They spent several years at different army bases around the country. She was always excited to move to a new location so she could add new and different cooking ideas like southern Cajun or many fantastic California specialties to her amazing cooking talents.

They returned to St. Anthony after the service where they were blessed with the birth of their son, Wallace Charles (Wally). They then relocated to Buhl, Idaho where they spent many years and were again blessed with their beautiful daughter, Colette to complete their family. While in Buhl, Renne started a new career and spent many years working at the Magic Valley Memorial Hospital with her BFF (of 51 years) Jean Hansen.

They later moved to Elko, Nevada and eventually settled in Spring Creek, Nevada. She spent many years working for Northeastern Nevada Regional Medical Center as an Emergency Room Clerk. She eventually retired and her and Chuck spent endless hours feeding and watching the many birds and wild deer that frequented their back yard. She was also able to dedicate more time to the different Arts and Crafts that she loved. She had a beautiful eye and special talent for any kind of succulent flower arranging. However, her greatest love and joy came from being able to plan, cook for and have all of her children, grandchildren and great granddaughters come to the family home for every birthday and holiday.

Renne is survived by her children, Wally (Sonja) Jensen and Colette (Troy) Remaly all of Elko, Nevada. Grandchildren, Sierra Jensen (Javier) Trujillo, Robin (Dakoda) Thompson, Jacobe Plascencia, Taylor (Rachel) Remaly, Trever Remaly, Demri Remaly, and Anthony Jensen, and 2 Great[1]granddaughters, Makenna Kate and Madilynn Remaly. She is also survived by her siblings, Terry (Lerene) Thompson, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Annette (Steve) Osterhout, Pocatello, Idaho, Bob Thompson, Meridian, Idaho, in-laws, David (Linda) Jensen, Sugar City, Idaho and Nola Jensen, Teton City, Idaho, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will truly miss their special Aunt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, parent-in-laws, grandparents and brother-in-law, Dale Jensen.
