Everyone who knew Shane felt his big heart, his wit and quiet personality. Shane was a hard worker and a dedicated miner. He worked at Barrick, now Nevada Gold Mines, for 34 years with great pride in sharing what he knew and his knowledge in welding and fixing, hence, his title being an Underground Fixed Maintenance employee.
Shane loved the outdoors, liked camping and four-wheeling. He loved the little town of Jarbidge and requested his ashes be spread in the mountains or creek of Jarbidge. Shane also loved watching concerts together with his wife and the recent one he saw was Journey at Salt Lake where he won a free t-shirt.
Shane was also a smart welder and mechanic. He took pride in what he built- his log splitter, his log grapple, dumper and even built most of the structures at his home, garage, shed, fences, tree house, concrete steps, gardens, etc. He was indeed Bob the Builder!
Shane will be greatly missed by his wife and only son, his family and extended family, his co-workers, his close friends, relatives and all the rest who have known him.
There will be a closed casket gathering for Shane at Burns Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a luncheon right after the Mass at the Mater Dei Hall.
