Shannon Lynn Brorby

Shannon Lynn Brorby of Spring Creek, Nevada (52), passed away at her home, unexpectedly on the morning of June 3, 2021 with her husband and youngest son close to her. Shannon was born in Raton, New Mexico, February 13, 1969 to Jim and Sylvia Doherty. She is survived by her husband Greg Brorby, sons Garrett (21) and Grant (18), parents Jim and Sylvia Doherty, brother Tim Doherty (55) and his wife Shanan (44) and their children Macie (14) and Casey (7). She graduated high school in Clayton, New Mexico. She attended Oklahoma State University and University of Nevada Las Vegas receiving her bachelor degree in education in 1995. Prior to graduation she met the love of her life, Greg Brorby. They were married in Las Vegas in 1994. They have two boys Garrett and Grant. She taught elementary school in Las Vegas for two years until deciding to start a family. They moved to Spring Creek, Nevada in 2005 where she had a boutique store (What 2 Wear) in Elko, Nevada for 7 years and moved her store to the Shabby Shanty for 3 years. She taught at the Spring Creek Boys and Girls Club while schools were closed during the pandemic. She also was a Rodan & Fields consultant. Shannon was very active in the community organizing youth and sporting events. She attended every game for both boys in travel ball and high school sports. She loved every minute of it and really enjoyed cheering for both boys. She has many friends who supported her and deeply cared for her. There will be a private burial ceremony on June 8th with a Celebration of Shannon's Life at 4:00 that same day at the Tomera 6 Bar Ranch off Mystic Drive in Spring Creek. All who knew her are welcome to attend and celebrate her extraordinary life. Memorials: The family requests that all memorials be made in Shannon's name to the Union County General Hospital in Clayton, New Mexico, 300 Wilson Street, Clayton, New Mexico 88415
