Viola Carol Tolhurst, 89 of Elko Nevada has left for heaven peacefully with loving family at her side on Friday, March 15 at International Health Care Hospital of Murray Utah. The hospital where Carol spent her final days was built on the very same spot that her High School and playground once stood.
She was born on January 13, 1935, to Elden Christian Nielson and Mirium Viola (Fayter) Nielson of Murray Utah. She has numerous brothers and sisters, cousins, nephews and nieces.
She met and married the love of her life, James Harwood Tolhurst and had four sons, Dave, Jack, Rick, and Brad.
Carol was very devoted to her family and God and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was much loved by all, family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, watching golf and she was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
She is survived in death by her sons, Jack (Connie) Tolhurst of Sebring Florida, Rick (Michelle) Tolhurst of Elko Nevada, and Brad (Rebecca) Tolhurst of Rocksprings Wyoming, Sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her oldest son Dave Tolhurst, and granddaughter, Brittany Ujlaky.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 234 Boyd Kennedy Road, in Spring Creek Nevada at 2:00 PM on March 22, there will be a viewing at 1:00 pm. There will be a graveside ceremony on the 23rd at 2:00 pm at the Salt Lake City cemetery, at 200 N. Street E, Salt Lake City, Utah
